 Sri Lankan opener continues failed to give a decent start to the team as Dickwella departed on a duck and Kushal Mendis too scored a duck, Avishka Fernando was looking good but couldn’t score more than 16 runs of 15 balls with 2 sixes. A Perera scored scored 16 of 18 balls with a fours Thisara Perera scored 19 of 21 balls, wickets were falling at regular intervals but Kamindu Mendis stacked at one end and  played some good shots and scored  41 of 29 balls with 3 fours and 2 sixes, Dhananjaya de silva scored 14 of 29 balls, Udana scored quick 12 runs of 6 balls with a four and Akila Dhananjaya scored 8 runs of 4 balls with 2 fours and helped Lankans to set a score of 134-10 wickets in 20 overs

 Phehlukwayo picked 3 wickets, Steyn, Rabada, Lutho Sipamla and Tahir got one wicket each.

 Ouiton de Kock and Handricks came to open the innings but Handricks got out after scoring 8 runs of 8 balls with a four, de Kock departed on13 runs of 17 balls with 2 fours, du Plessis played a decent inning of 21 runs of 23 balls with 2 fours. Miller and van der Dussen built a partnership of 66 runs and the match was under control of South Africa but  Sri Lankan bowlers came back strongly and departed van der Dussen on 34 of 30 balls with a four and a six, Miller got out after scoring 41 of 23 balls with 5 fours and a six, Duminy scored 9 runs of 7 balls with a four, Phehlukwayo scored 4 runs of 4 balls with a four, the Lankan bowlers were able to restrict South Africa on 134-8 in 20 overs,

Lasit Malinga picked 2 wickets, de Silva, Akila Dhananjaya and Jeffrey Vandersay got 1 wicket each.

 as the match tied between the two teams so the winner was to be decided by the super over. South Africa batted first and scored 14 runs in 6 balls. Sri Lanka needed 15 runs to win the match but Imran Tahir bowled exceptionally well and Sri Lanka was able to score only 5 runs of 6 balls and lost the match , South Africa takes the lead in the series by 1-0. David Miller got the man of the match award.
