  KL Rahul and Chris Gayle came to crease and Dawal Kulkarni departed KL Rahul in the 4th ball of the match. Chris Gayle played steadily and built a partnership of 56 runs with Mayank Agarwal, where Mayank scored 22 runs (1 four, 2 sixes) of 24 balls and departed by K Gautam. Gayle shifted the momentum with a partnership of 84 runs where Gayle played some huge shots and departed on 79 runs (8 fours, 4 sixes) of 57 balls by Ben Stokes. At the end of the inning Sarfaraz Khan batted aggressively and scored unbeaten 46 runs (6 fours, 1six) of 29 balls bwhich helped the team to set a score of 184-4 in 20 overs. 

2wickets picked by Stokes , Gautam and Kulkarni got one wicket each.

 Ajinkya Rahane along with Joes Buttler came in and gave a huge start to the team where they built a partnership of 78 runs. Ashwin break the partnership by departing Rahane on 27 runs (4 fours) of 20 balls. Buttler looked good and played some good shots along with Sanju Samson. While Buttler was on crease it looked like the match was under control of Rajasthan but the trick of Ashwin to mankaded Buttler as a result of which Buttler departed on 69 runs (10 fours, 2 sixes) of 43 balls by Ashwin and Shifted the momentum of the match. Sam Curran who was very expressive in the previous 3 overs departed two set batsman, Steve Smith on 20 runs of 16 balls with a four and a six and Samson on 30 runs (a six) of 25 balls. Rajasthan Royals at the end of the inning lost wickets at regular intervals as result of which RR managed to score 170-9 in 20 overs and lose the match by 14 runs.
