Nikhil Naik along with Chris Lynn came to open the inning but both the opener struggled to score runs and gave a poor start to the team where Naik was departed by Lamichhane on 7 runs after playing 16 balls. KKR batting collapsed and the wicket stated to fall at regular intervals. At a stage KKR were in deep trouble as they lost 5 wickets at the score of 61, Kartik was on the crease Russell came to bat and the momentum shifted by both the batsman where the scored 95 runs for the 6th wicket. Russell once again muscled the ball and revived the team, Russell scored 62 runs (4 fours, 6 sixes) of 28 balls and was departed after a magnificent Russell show by Chris Morris. On the other end Kartik played a brilliant inning as required by the team and scored 50 runs of 36 balls and was departed by Amit Mishra. KKR scored 185-8 in 20 overs.

Prithvi Shaw open the inning for Delhi along with Sikhar Dhawan. Dhawan once again couldn’t convert the start into a big inning and was departed by Chawla on 16 runs (2 four, a six) of 8 balls. Prithvi Shaw was playing flawlessly along with Shreyas Iyer and scored 89 runs for the 2nd wicket, Shreyas Iyer looked good and played some good shots but after scoring 43 runs (4 fours, 2 sixes) of 32 balls was departed by Andre Russell. Rishab Pant came to bat but couldn’t score more than 11 runs of 15 balls with a four and was departed by Kuldeep Yadav. Prithvi Shaw showed a great intent but was very unfortunate to got out after scoring 99 runs of 55 balls with 12 fours and 3 sixes. Despite of Prithvi and Shreyas innings the score leveled up by scoring 185-6 in 20 overs and the match was to be decided by the Super over where DC scored 10-1 by Shreyas Iyer and Rishab Pant and Delhi seals the match as KKR managed to score only 7-1 as Rabada bowled extremely well to win the match.
