  Jonny Bairstow came to the crease along with David Warner to open the innings for SRH. Bairstow played a sensational inning and gave a huge start to the team where he scored his maiden fifty in IPL in his debut season and over shadowed the knock played played by David Warner. He converted his maiden fifty into his maiden century and he scored 114 runs of 56 balls with 12 fours and 7 huge sixes and made a record partnership of 185 runs for the first wicket along with David Warner but Bairstow was sent back to pavillion by Y Chahal. At the end of the inning Warner striked the ball hard and scored his 4th century in IPL where he completed his century in the last ball of the match and his 100 runs (5 fours, 5 sixes) of 55 balls helped the team to set a huge score of 231-2 in 20 overs.
