 KL Rahul came the crease with his new opening partner Sam Curran but KL Rahul couldn’t score more than 11 runs and was sent back to pavillion by Chris Morris. DC lost 2 more quick wickets where Sam Curran and Mayank Agarwal departed in quick succession. Sarfaraz along with David Miller revived the team by scoring 62 runs for the 4th wicket and Sarfaraz scored 39 runs(4 fours) of 29 balls but was departed by Lamichhane. David Miller continued his good form in the  season 12 where he scored 43 runs of 30 balls with 4 fours and 2 sixes was got out by Chris Morris in the 17th over of the inning. At the end of the inning Mandeep Singh scored valuable 29 * runs of 21 balls with 2 fours and a six which helped the team to set a score as 166-9 in 20 overs.

Chris Morris bowled brilliantly and picked 3 wickets conceding 30 runs in his 4 overs. Rabada and Lamichhane got 2 wickets each.

 The start for Delhi Capitals was not so good as because Prithvi Shaw the inform batsman got out in the very first ball of inning bowled by Ashwin. Dhawan and Shreyas Iyer scored runs as per the required run rate but after scoring 61 runs  Shreyas Iyer was departed by Vijoen on 28 runs (5 fours) of 22 balls. Dhawan looked good but after scoring 30 runs (4 fours) of 25 balls Dhawan missed the Ashwin’s carrom ball and got out lbw in front of the stumps. Rishab Pant along with Colin Ingram was on the crease and took the score close to the target and it seems that DC gonna win the match effortlessly but in climax came the match when Rishab Pant hit a six to Shami in the 3rd ball of the 17th over and in the very next ball Rishab Pant bowled out by Shami on the score of 39 runs (3 fours, 2 sixes) of 26 balls. In the next overs Ingram was caught on the boundary line by Nair( sub) in the bowl of Sam Curran. After Rishab and Ingram’s wicket the batting line up collapsed and DC lost the 7 wickets on 8 runs and Sam Curran ends up the inning with a hat trick and Delhi was wrapped up on 152 runs in 19.2 overs where Sam Curran picked 4 wickets conceding just 11 runs in his 3.2 overs. Shami, Ashwin got 2 wickets and 1 wicket picked by Vijoen. And Punjab won the match by 14 runs.
