Parthiv Patel and Virat Kohli came to bat and started well by scoring 53 runs in the powerplay without losing any wicket. But in the 8th over of the match Nitish Rana took the wicket of Parthiv on 25 runs (3 fours) of 24 balls. AB de Villiers came to bat and showed a great intent while batting and was also dropped by Ferguson on 13 runs bowled by Narine and in between Kohli completed his 35th half century in IPL and first in the season. Kohli was on fire and scored runs all along the ground along with AB and scored 108 runs for the 2nd wicket and AB completed his 2nd fifty in the season. Kohli was unfortunately got out by Kuldeep Yadav on 84 runs (9fours, 2 sixes) of 49 balls in the 18th over. In the next over Sunil Narine departed AB de Villiers on 63 runs (5 fours, 4 sixes) of 32 balls and at the end Stoinis finished the inning with 28 runs (3 fours, 1six) of 13 balls which took the score 205-3 in 20 overs.
Chris Lynn gave a quick start to team along with Sunil Narine but Narine couldn’t score more than 10 runs of 8 balls with 2 fours and departed by Navdeep Saini. Uthappa played a supporting role and scored runs as per the required run rate and scored 65 runs for the 2nd wicket with Lynn but was caught in the boundary line by Southee in the bowl of Pawan Negi on 33 runs (6 fours) of 25 balls. Negi bowled out Chris Lynn in the next over of his spell on 43 runs(4 fours, 2 sixes) of 31 balls. Nitish Rana played some good shots and tried to take the score close to the target but was sent back to pavilion by Chahal on 37 runs (1 four, 2 sixes) of 23 balls. Dinesh Kartik and Andre Russell were on the crease and KKR needed 67 runs needed in 26 balls, Kartik tried to accelerate but was caught by Chahal in the bowl of Navdeep Saini. After the wicket the show started by Russell muscle who was just unbelievable on the field and smashed sixes all around the park and scored 48 runs of just 13 balls to make KKR to win the match by 5 wickets by an unbelievable inning by Andre Russell which helped KKR to score 206-5 in 19.1 overs.
