In the very next over Tahir picked the wicket of Krunal on 1 run of 3 balls. Rohit Sharma batted sensibly in the spinners friendly pitch and got his first fifty of the season but in the 17th over Rohit got out by Santner. At the end Hardik Pandya and Pollard scored 33 runs which helped the team to set a total of 155-4 in 20 overs.

The spinners bowled brilliantly and Santner picked 2 wickets conceding only 13 runs in 4 overs, Deepak Chahar and Tahir got one wicket each.

 CSK started the chase with Murali Vijay and Shane Watson but Watson couldn’t do much as wickets started to fall with the wicket of Watson as result of which CSK lost 3 wickets in the powerplay and could score only 40 runs. Murali Vijay tried to score runs but he was also sent back to pavilion on 38 runs (3 fours, 1 six) of 35 balls. No batsman other than Satner and Bravo could score 2 digit run in the inning as result of which the team CSK was wrapped out on 109-10 in 17.2 overs. Once again the absence of MS Dhoni affected the performance of the team and lost the match by huge margin of 46 runs.

Lashit Malinga once again helped the team to win the match as he picked 4 wickets in 3.4 overs and conceded 37 runs, Krunal and Bumrah picked 2 wickets each whereas Anukul Roy and Hardik got 1 wicket each.
