Prithvi Shaw and Sikhar Dhawan couldn’t give a good start to the team and departed early in the match where Prithvi scored 5 of 6 balls and Sikhar scored 18 runs of 14 balls as a result of which DC managed to score 41-2 in the powerplay. Colin Munro was promoted to the batting order but it didn’t work as they kept losing wickets at regular intervals as they lost their captain who scored 13 runs (1 four) of 18 balls and Munro too couldn’t score more than 27 runs (4 fours) of 24 balls and departed by Imran Tahir. But Rishab Pant batted patiently and tried to score as more runs as he can but in the 19th over was sent back to pavilion by Deepak Chahar on 38 runs (3 four, 1 six) of 25 balls. And in the last 3 balls Ishant Sharma scored 10 runs with a four and a six which helped the team to set a competitive total of 147-9 in 20 overs.
The bowlers bowled really well and didn’t allowed any batsman to free their arms and kept taking wickets at quick intervals where Deepak Chahar Harbhajan Singh, R Jadeja and DJ Bravo picked 2 wickets each and Imran Tahir got 1 wicket.

Faf du Plessis and Shane Watson gave a magnificent start to the team by scoring 42 runs in the powerplay without losing any wicket and Faf batted superbly after a slow start and completed his 3rd half century in the season and after scoring 50 runs (7 fours, 1 six) of 39 balls got out to Trent Boult in the 11th over and scored 81 runs for the first wicket with Watson. After the wicket Watson played some fearless shots and scored 50 runs of 32 balls but was also departed after his 50 by Amit Mishra. Both the openers back to their form in the big match which leads the team win the match one sidedly where CSK scored 151-4 in 19th over quite comfortably and qualifies for the final against Mumbai Indians. DC were just short of 15 runs which caused them in the match and bowlers couldn’t do much despite of Trent Boult, Ishant Sharma Amit Mishra and Axar Patel’s 1 wicket each.

SRH started well as Guptil batted aggressively but W Saha couldn’t do much and departed in the first ball of the 4th over bowled by Ishant Sharma and SRH scored 54-1 in the powerplay. Guptil who looked in great touch got out just after the powerplay scoring 36 runs (1 four, 4 sixes) of 19 balls by Amit Mishra. After a good start SRH lost the momentum by losing wickets at regular intervals where the batsman couldn’t convert the start they got into a big inning where the partnership of 34 runs in 7 overs between Manish Pandey and Williamson break the momentum and Manish Pandey got out to Keemo Paul after scoring 30 runs (3 fours) of 36 balls. And Williamson in the 16th over bowled by Ishant got out on 28 runs (2 fours)  of 27 balls. Then Shankar’s 25 runs (2 fours, 2 sixes) of 11 balls and Nabi’s 20 runs (3 fours, 1 six) of 13 balls helped the team to set a total of 162-8 in 20 overs.

The bowlers bowled really well to restrict them to 162 by taking wickets at regular intervals where Keemo Paul picked 3 wickets, Ishant picked 2 wickets, Amit Mishra and Boult got 1 wicket each.

 Prithvi Shaw and Sikhar Dhawan gave a good start to the team and scored 55 runs in the powerplay without losing any wicket. But Sikhar Dhawan couldn’t create any impact as he got out scoring 17 runs 3 fours of 16 balls by Deepak Hooda in the 8th over. Prithvi Shaw batted fearlessly and completed his half century and scored 56 runs (6 fours, 2 sixes) of 38 balls and was sent back to pavilion in the 11th over bowled by Khaleel Ahmed. And with the wicket of Prithvi Shaw Delhi continued to lose wickets but in between Rishab Pant played a extra odinary inning in which shifted the momentum towards Delhi Capitals and helped the team to win the match by 2 wickets with his 49 runs (2 fours, 5 sixes) of 21 balls and Delhi scored 165-8 in 19.5 overs. The match was much competitive and the bowlers bowled well and took the match at till the last over where Bhuvneswar Kumar, Rashid Khan and Khaleel Ahmed picked 2 wickets each and Deepak Hooda got one wicket.

 The Qualifier 1 of VIVO IPL Season 12, CSK vs MI was played between two most successful teams of IPL on 7th May 2019 in MA Chidambaram Stadium, Chennai. Both the teams have won the title 3 times. Chennai won the toss and elected to bat first in the match.

The inning was started by Faf du Plessis and Shane Watson who couldn’t give a good start to the team as CSK lost their first wicket du Plessis in the 3rd over bowled by Rahul Chahar who scored 6 runs of 11 balls. Raina in the very next over gave his wicket to Jayant Yadav and Murali Vijay tried to score runs against the quality spinners but in the last ball of the powerplay Krunal Pandya departed Shane Watson on 10 runs (2 fours) of 13 balls who tried to settle down as a result of CSK was able to score 32-3 in the powerplay. After the powerplay the bowlers didn’t allowed any batsman to score easy runs which forced batsman to go huge which helped them to picked the wicket of Vijay in the 13th over bowled by Rahul Chahar who departed Murali Vijay on 26 runs (3 fours) of 26 balls. Once again Dhoni came in to the crease and built a partnership of 67 runs in 7.5 balls with Rayudu  who scored 42 runs of 37 balls and helped the team to set a competitive total of 132-4 in 20 overs with his 37 runs (3 sixes) of 29 balls.

Rahul Chahar bowled brilliantly and picked 32important wickets conceding only 14 runs in his 4 overs, Jayant Yadav and Krunal Pandya got 1 wickets each.

 The start for MI was not that good as they lost the wickets of the openers early in the inning and scored 44-2 runs in the powerplay and then Suryakumar Yadav built a partnership with Ishan Kishan and took the match away from CSK by scoring 80 runs in 10.3 overs where Ishan Kishan scored 28 runs (1 fours, 1 six) of 31 balls. Imran Tahir interrupted by departing Ishan and Krunal Pandya on a duck but Suryakumar Yadav helped the team to win the match quite comfortably with his 71 runs (10 fours, 3 sixes) of 52 balls and MI scored 132-4 in 18.3 overs and qualifies for the final. CSK tried well where Tahir picked 2 wickets conceding 33 runs in his 4 overs, Deepak Chahar and Harbhajan Singh got 1 wicket each.

Chris Lynn started well with Subhman Gill as they scored 49 runs in the powerplay without losing any wicket but in the first ball just after the powerplay lost the wicket of Subhman Gill who scored 9 runs in 12 balls and was departed by Hardik Pandya. One more wicket picked by Hardik in his very next over by departing Chris Lynn who played some good shots and scored 41 runs (2 fours, 4 sixes) of 29 balls. After the openers wickets rest of the work done by Malinga who picked of Karthik on 3 runs of 9 balls and Russell on a golden duck but Uthappa at one end played a very steady inning. Nitish Rana tried to explode at the end but once again Malinga stopped Rana on 26 runs (3 sixes) of 13 balls, Uthappa’s steady inning came to an end after scoring 41 runs (1 four, 3 sixes) of 47 balls in the last over bowled by Bumrah as a result of which KKR could score 133-7 in 20 overs.
The bowlers bowled brilliantly and allowed any batsman free their arms where Malinga picked 3 wickets conceding 35 runs in 4 overs, Hardik Pandya and Bumrah picked 2 wickets each.

 Rohit Sharma and Quinton de Kock started well by scoring 46 runs in the powerplay without losing any wicket where de Kock scored 30 runs (1 four,  3 sixes) of 23 balls and departed in the first ball just after the powerplay bowled by Prasidh Krishna. Then a huge partnership between Rohit Sharma and Suryakumar Yadav leads MI to a very comfortable victory against KKR where both of them batted brilliantly and scored 87 runs for the 2nd wicket where Rohit Sharma completed his half century and scored 55 runs (8 fours) and Suryakumar Yadav finished off the match in the 17th over by hitting a huge six to Andre Russell and scored 46 runs (5 fours, 2 sixes) of 27 balls which helped the team to won the match in 16.1 overs by scoring 134-1 and secured the first position in the points table. 
Prasiddh Krishna was the bowler who picked the only wicket by conceding 22 runs in 3 overs.

Faf du Plessis gave a decent start even after losing the wicket of Watson early and scored 42-1 in the powerplay along with Raina. They started slow but matched it up later on and built a partnership of 120 runs in 12.3 overs where du Plessis completed his fifty in 37 balls and Raina after completing his another half century once again thrown his wicket where he scored 53 runs (5 fours, 2 sixes) of 38 balls and was departed by Sam Curran. Sam Curran took another wicket of du Plessis in his very next over where du Plessis scored 96 runs (10 fours, 4 sixes) of 55 balls. The innings played by Raina and du Plessis helped the team to set a competitive total of 170-5 in 20 overs after a slow start.
The bowlers bowled really well to restrict CSK after a huge partnership especially Sam Curran who picked 3 important wickets conceding 35 runs in his 4 overs and M Shami picked 2 wickets conceding just 17 runs in 3 overs.
KXIP’S Inning in 55th Match of VIVO IPL Season 12, KXIP vs CSK in Punjab



KL Rahul once again played a brilliant inning and gave a very good start to the team by scoring 68 runs in the powerplay along with Chris Gayle without losing any wicket and built a partnership of 108 runs and completed his half century in  19 balls and scored 71 runs (7 fours, 5 sixes) of 36 balls and unfortunately got out to Harbhajan Singh and in very next ball picked the wicket of Chris Gayle in the 11th over who scored 28 runs (2 fours, 2 sixes) of 28 balls. And then Nicholas Pooran helped the team to get a comfortable win against CSK by 6 wickets where Punjab scored 173-4 in 18 overs in their last match of the season as they couldn’t qualify for the Playoffs due to their poor run rate in the season. Harbhajan Singh picked 3 wickets but was too expensive for the team as he conceded 57 runs in 4 overs and Ravindra Jadeja got 1 wicket.

SRH after a good start lost their first wicket W Saha in the 5th over of the inning who scored 20 runs (4 fours) of 11 balls and got out by Navdeep Saini and SRH scored 52-1 in powerplay but in the 8th over lost the wicket of Guptil on 30 runs (2 fours,2 sixes) of 23 balls  in the 8th over by W Sundar. Manish Pandey couldn’t do much and got out on 9 runs (1 four) of 12 balls by W Sundar and the partnership of 45 runs between Williamson and Vijay Shankar gave a momentum to the team and Williamson played with the momentum at one end whereas on the other wickets continued to fall. Williamson helped the team to set a good total of 175-7 in 20 overs by scoring 28 runs in the last over bowled by Umesh Yadav and scored a total of 70 runs (5 fours, 4 sixes) of 43 balls.

The bowlers kept taking wickets at regular intervals where W Sundar picked 3 in 3 overs conceding 24 runs and Navdeep Saini got 2 wickets whereas Chahal and Khejroliya got 1 wicket each.

RCB didn’t got the start as they expected as they lost their top 3 batsman Parthiv Patel, Virat Kohli and Ab de Villiers early in the powerplay as a result of which RCB scored 49-3 in first 6 overs. Then a partnership between Hetmyer and Gurkeerat Singh Maan helped the team to revive and took the team close to the target with their brilliant knock where they scored 144 runs for the 4th wicket which was the highest runs partnership for the 4th wicket in IPL and second highest in the season and both of them completed their first fifty of the season and leads the team to win the match by 4 wickets where Hetmyer scored 75 runs (4 fours, 6 sixes) of 47 balls  and  Gurkeerat scored 65 runs (8 fours, 1 six) of 48 balls. RCB gave their fans a memorable end of the season. 

Khaleel once again picked 3 wickets but also conceded 37 runs in 4 overs, Bhuvneswar Kumar picked 2 wickets and Rashid got 1 wicket in the match.

The bowlers bowled really well and didn’t allowed any batsman to attack where Amit Mishra and Ishant Sharma picked 3 wickets each. Boult got 2 wicket.

DC couldn’t start well as both the openers got out in the 4th over bowled by Ish Sodhi in his first 2 balls. DC scored 46 runs in the powerplay.  Shreyas Iyer tried to explode but was departed by Shreyas Gopal on 15 runs (2 sixes) of 9 balls. Than a matured inning by Rishab Pant leads the team to get a comfortable win with his 53 runs (2 fours, 5 sixes) of 38 balls as they scored 121-5 in 16.2 overs. The bowlers tried well but the target was too less to defend where Ish Sodhi picked 3 wickets and Shreyas Gopal got 2 wickets.

The start for Punjab was not so good as they lost their both openers KL Rahul and Chris Gayle in the powerplay as result of which Punjab scored 41-2 in the powerplay. Mayank Agarwal and Nicholas Pooran were on the crease and scored 69 runs for the 3rd wicket where Pooran played some huge shots comfortably and scored 48 runs (3 fours, 4 sixes) of 27 balls which gave the momentum to the team and was departed by Nitish Rana. Mayank looked good but quite unfortunate to got run out by Rinku/Narine on 36 runs (2 fours, 1 six) of 26 balls. Mandeep Singh supported well and scored 25 runs (1 four, 1 six) of 17 balls. At the end Sam Curran played a brilliant inning and completed his first IPL half century and helped the team to set a huge total of 183-6 in 20 overs with his 55 runs (7 fours, 2 sixes) of just 24 balls.

Sandeep Warrier picked 2 wickets conceding 31 runs in his 4 overs, Hurney Gurney, Nitish Rana and Andre Russell got 1 wicket each.

Subhman Gill and Chris Lynn gave a good and solid start to the team by scoring 62 runs in the powerplay but lost the wicket of Chris Lynn in the ladl ball of the powerplay who looked dangerous and departed by  Andrew Tye after scoring 46 runs (5 fours, 3 sixes) of 25 balls. Subhman Gill at one end kept building partnership while as on the other end batsman played aggressively where Uthappa scored 22 runs (2 fours, 1 six) of 14 balls and got out to R Ashwin whereas Russell scored 24 runs (2 fours, 2 sixes) of 14 balls and was sent back to pavilion by Shami. Subhman Gill completed his 3rd half century as opener in the season and scored unbeaten 65 runs (5 fours, 2 sixes) of 49 balls and Dinesh Kartik finished off the match with his 21* runs (2 fours,1 six) of 9 balls and KKR scored 185-3 in 18 overs.

MI started the inning well but SRH pulled them back by departing Rohit Sharma in the 6th over of the match where Rohit got out on 24 runs (5 fours) of 18 balls by Khaleel Ahmed as a result of Mumbai could score 44-1 in the powerplay. Quinton de Kock tried to play huge shot he couldn’t connect the ball well. Suryakumar Yadav looked very comfortable against the bowling attack where he scored some good runs for the team but after scoring 23 runs  (3 fours, 1 six) of 17 balls was got out to Khaleel Ahmed. SRH took wickets at regular intervals at one end whereas on the other de Kock kept rotating strike as he was not able to play huge shots against the bowling attack and completed his 4 fifty in the season in 48 balls which was the 2nd slowest fifty in the season and remained unbeaten till the end with his 69 runs (6 fours, 2 sixes) of 58 balls which helped the team to set a competitive total of 162-5 in 20 overs. 
The bowlers done the their job well where Khaleel Ahmed once again shines and picked 3 wickets but also conceded 42 runs in 4 overs. Bhuvneswar Kumar and Nabi got 1 wicket each.

After a good start by W Saha and Martin Guptil where they scored 40 runs in 4 overs where Saha scisco 25 runs (5 fours) of 15 balls and was departed by Bumrah and his next over picked the wicket of Guptil who couldn’t score more than 15 runs (1 four, 1 six) of 11 balls. And then Manish Pandey came in to bat and continued his form and took the score to 59-2 in 6 overs. Wickets continued to fall untill Nabi came in to bat where Nabi scored 30 runs (2 fours, 2 sixes) of 20 balls and Manish Pandey’s brilliant half century helped the team to level the score with his unbeaten 71 runs (8 fours, 2 sixes) of 47 balls and then the match is to be decided by a super over.
Bumrah, Hardik Pandya and Krunal Pandya picked 2 wickets each in their 4 overs. Bumrah bowled the super over and conceded only 8 runs and also picked a wicket. MI needed 9 runs to win where Hardik Pandya and Pollard came in to bat and finished the match by scoring 8 runs in just 3 balls and MI qualified for the playoffs.

Then a partnership between du Plessis and Raina took the score to 27-1 in the powerplay and scored 83 runs in 10.1 overs but Axar Patel break the partnership by departing du Plessis on 39 runs (2 fours, 2 sixes) of 41 balls. After the wicket Raina completed his 37th fifty in VIVO IPL and then tried to score quick runs but J Suchith sen him back to the pavilion on 59 runs (8 fours, 1 six) of 37 balls. Ravindra Jadeja came in to bat with MS Dhoni and scored quick 25 runs (2 fours, 2 sixes) of 10 balls and got out in the 19 over. The start was not so good for DC as they lost the wickets of both the openers in the powerplay where Prithvi Shaw departed in the 5 ball of the inning on 4 runs by Deepak Chahar and Sikhar Dhawan got out to Harbhajan Singh after scoring 19 runs (1 four, 1 six) of 13 balls.
