The Afghanies bowler had done there job for the team as Ahmadzai and Nabi picked 3 wickets each, Rashid Khan and Waqar Salamkheil got 2 wickets each which helped the team to restrict Ireland on 172-10 in 60 overs.

 The opener M Shahzad and Ihsanullah Janat came to the crease but Ihsanullah departed scoring 7 runs of 34 balls with a four but Shahzad played well but couldn’t score more than 40 runs of 64 balls with 6 fours and a six. Rahmat and Shahidi built a partnership of 130 runs for 3rd wicket where Shahidi scored 61 runs of 154 balls with 6 fours and Rahmat unfortunately got out on 98 runs in 214 with 15 fours, Nabi departed on a duck. Akram Ali Khil scored 7 runs of 40 balls. Rashid scored 10 runs of 8 balls with a four and a six, Ahmadzai 2 runs of 5 balls and Afghan departed on 67 of 92 balls with 6 fours and 4 sixes, Wafadar  6 runs of 24 balls with a four and Waqar scored 1 run of 4 balls in regard of which the team scored 314-10 in 106.3 overs.

S Thompson picked 3 wickets, Andy McBrine, James Cameron and Dockrell got 2 wickets each and Murtagh got 1 wicket.

 In the 2nd innings the opener again failed to give a good start to the team as Porterfield departed on a duck and Stirling scored 14 runs of 49 balls with 2 fours but Andy Balbirnie and James McCollum takes the charge and built a partnership of 104 runs where James McCollum scored 39 runs of 96 balls with 5 fours and Andy scored more than 82 runs of 149 balls with 11 fours and falls short of scoring a century, Kavin O Brien scored 56 runs of 78 balls with 7 fours, Stuart Poyntner departed on 1 of 9 balls and S Thompson scored 1 run of 12 balls, Dockrell departed after scoring 25 of 74 balls with 2 fours, Andy McBrine scored 4 runs of 13 balls with a four. For the last wicket James Cameron and Murtagh scored crucial 58 runs partnership where Murtagh departed on 27 of 32 balls with 4 fours and Cameron scored 32 runs of 39 balls with 5 fours and helped the team to set a score of 288-10 in 93 overs.

Rashid Khan was exceptional with the ball and picked 5 wickets for the team and became the first Afghan player to pick 5 wickets in an innings, Ahmadzai got 3 wickets and Waqar Salamkheil got 2 wickets.

 The bowlers had done the job for the team in regard of which Afghanistan needed 147 runs to achieve their first test victory and they successfully achieved the target in 47.3 overs and scored 149-2 where Shahzad scored 2 runs of 34 balls, Ihsanullah scored unbeaten 65 runs of 129 balls with 8 fours and 2 sixes and Rahmat carried his form in 2nd innings and departed after scoring 76 of 122 balls with 13 fours. Nabi scored 1 run of 1 ball and Sahidi scored 4 runs of 1 ball with a four.
